Honey lemme tell you about this dress!

I knew I had this wedding coming up in November and I had just finished my three months maternity leave and I was one week back to work. I knew I had a lot to catch up on and based on how motherhood was keeping me on my toes, I  I had to plan for the wedding in time. I think at my age group nowadays every two months or so there is a wedding to attend. For this particular one I had nothing in mind so I was ready to settle on any cute gown

One day I am minding my damn business walking down the streets of old town and I happen to pass by a mannequin by the window wearing this pink number. The sleeves caught my attention but I kept it moving. A few steps forward, I had the urge to go back and just have a second look. Eventually I found myself in the store and I requested to have a look at it.

I had already started feeling sorry for myself because those mannequins can make you snatch your edges with their tiny waistline and at that time I wasn’t about that life with my waist looking like a doughnut with chocolate on top. The price itself was not encouraging considering that I had not planned for it.  Ladies, have you ever been in a store and you love something but your senses are advising you otherwise and so you try to find any excuse to leave the store with your dignity so you come up with all these funny excuses like oh, I wanted a red one, or oh I wanted a bigger size etc…. well, I tried the size thing but it didn’t work. You know why? because the sales lady told me not to worry they have my size. say what now?? lol. I wasn’t dressed for shopping so I wasn’t in the mood to try it on. Normally when I go shopping I wear something I can easily slip in and out of in the changing room.

Within minutes it started raining and obviously that meant I couldn’t go anywhere and I didn’t want to just chill in someone’s store so I decided to take her up on her offer and just fit the damn dress. I tried it on and despite my imperfections, I truly loved what I saw in the mirror. At that moment I was like you know what, after bringing another human being into this world, I DESERVED THIS DRESS. (That’s what I keep telling myself every time I splurge on some thing.  haha I need to stop already) and that’s how I got to go home with this beauty

I am slowly but surely falling in love with the whole make up technique. watching youtube tutorials was my favorite pass time when I was on leave and so I will try to share my looks on the blog as often as I can. For this look I was running late and had little time to beat my face. I just wanted something subtle and laid back. More like my day to day look with no lashes. Products used

Eye brows: glamgals brow gel

Eye shadow: a mix of elf and flomar

mascara: sleek

Foundation: mix of MAC and black radiance

Lipstick: Jioney honey matte
